We are Forest

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now” old proverb

We are part of the forest. For quite a magnificent percentage of our species’ life span, forest blanketed the land. The native peoples knew their very existence rested upon an interdependency with everything else that grew and lived. Our lives still do today. Air, filtered by our planet’s oceans flora and forests, we breathe. Water, from the earth’s chasms channels and creeks, we drink.

Our planet teems with an astonishing array of plant and animal life. Preserving its biological diversity is essential to protecting our ancient forests. Without the mystical and finely interwoven orchestration of all communities of life, we, as a species will inevitably be endangered. The philosophy of balance is re-emerging – the notion that our environment is indeed a web of life, and that we humans are merely members of the web, members of the forest community. Let us treat natural systems with Love and Respect. By doing so, we may be able to ensure the survival of our earth, and humanity as well.

Together, we must reawaken this knowledge in our communities, broaden awareness of how important it is to preserve our remaining ancient forests, our diminishing waters, our limited air.

Please do ponder of actionary ripples; how each and every event will continue on in time.

Perhaps plant trees, clean streams, reuse, repurpose and recycle on a regular basis, join local groups fighting to protect lands, forests, creatures . . . do anything you can in your power to create hope for future generations.

Every action makes a difference.
